Description/Blazon

SHIELD

Azure, a saber and a musket saltirewise Argent between two brick towers couped Proper garnished of the second; a chief of the like fimbriated Or bearing four mullets fesswise of the first.

CREST

From a wreath Argent and Azure an American bald eagle with wings displayed and adorsed and standing upon a demi-wreath of laurel.

MOTTO

On the dexter a U. S. Flag and on the sinister a positional flag of the Assistant Secretaries of the Army Proper entwined by a scroll Argent, edged red, inscribed "PRESERVING ARMY HERITAGE" Azure.

Symbolism

SHIELD

Blue and white are the colors of the Assistant Secretaries of the Army flag; the four stars are adapted from the flag as well.  The crossed weapons reflect the era of the Revolutionary War, while the towers suggest historic sites.

CREST

The eagle is our national symbol; laurel is for honor and achievement.

MOTTO

The motto and flags define the objective and responsibilities of the program.
